Believe it or not!

I couldn't believe it when I actually talked my friend into getting into a beekeeper's suit and going to the bee hives with me. It took a while for her to realize that the bees couldn't get inside the suit with her. I spent a few minutes talking to her and settling a few fears and then off to the beehives we went. She actually had a great time learning some of the things I know about beekeeping. And she realized what amazing little creatures the honeybees are. She quickly spotted one of my unmarked queens, and realized how very different they look from the other bees. In fact after one trip to the hives, she decided that she has to have some honeybees to take care of all by herself. After all she is addicted to my pure and wonderful honey that I havest from my beehives and she believes she can do the same. And with the confidence she has, I believe that she will able to do just that. I am looking forward to helping her work her beehives and seeing just how much I did manage to teach her about beekeeping. But more important she will learn from the experience of having her own hives to take care of.
